HODG CLUB MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL

Featured School: Calabasas High

Stephanie and Maddie from Calabasas High School were the first students to start a HODG Club, ever! How cool is that!? They are now our HODG Club Leads and help mentor new clubs and students to thrive in their community.

What’s a HODG Club?

In a HODG Club, you’ll be part of a caring, welcoming community that’s devoted to learning how each of us can make a difference in the world.

What does HODG stand for?

HangOutDoGood

What do we do in a HODG CLUB?

Up to you! This is your club, so you and your members decide what issue(s) you’re going to work on. That said, we do have a few basic requirements:

  1. ACTION. Every HODG Club has an action that they focus on. What that action is, is up to the members. It can be making lunches for food insecure people, organizing a clothing drive, cleaning up a park, or some other way you want to try to make the world better. Point is, you gotta DO something.

  2. EDUCATION. HODG Clubs educate themselves as much as they can about the issue they’re working on. That can mean inviting folks from the community to talk to the group, touring a non-profit that’s working in your area, or zooming in with an expert. (You’d be surprised how easy it is to get experts to talk to you.)

  3. HODG MENTOR. Each club has  a “mentor” who  supports your club by brainstorming ideas, troubleshooting problems, connecting you with experts, etc.

  4. SUBSCRIBE to the HODG newsletter. This is the best way to stay connected with HODG and informed about all the do-good stuff going on in Los Angeles.

Which HODG Clubs are currently active?

Right now, we have HODG Clubs at Calabasas High School, Oakwood School, Loyola High and Marlborough.

Who can start a HODG CLUB?

Anyone! Which means YOU. Just reach out to us at hangoutdogood@gmail.com and we will connect you with a mentor right away!
