An Evening for Justice
Masked ICE agents kidnapping people off our streets. Nothing has been upsetting me more. I am sure you feel the same and want to do something. One thing you can do is support orgs that are fighting back.
In the courts.
Caracen is the largest Central American advocacy org in the country. They provide no - and low cost legal representation for immigrants, advocate for sensible immigrant policies, and fight for the rights of all immigrants in this country.
A group of passionate, very organized neighbors – they aren’t all HODG members but they will be soon, I hope – are hosting this gathering on Norton. The goal is to raise friends and funds for Caracen. This is the first time we have done anything with Caracen, so we are learning too!
You don't need to donate -- though of course they'd love it -- but either way the most important thing is to come and learn about the work this org is doing, enjoy some food, and engage in meaningful fellowship. That is how we beat those masked men – by sticking together! (They depend on us doing the opposite)
