Earth Day Fair in the Park

EARTH DAY FAIR IN THE PARK

HODG is going to have a table at the CD-5 (Katy Yaroslavsky's district) sponsored EARTH DAY FAIR IN THE PARK! Come join in on the fun and play games, activities, do arts & crafts, plant a native flower, enjoy treats and so much more!!! It’s FREE and all ages are welcome.

Saturday, April 27th
10am - 2pm
Los Angeles High Memorial Park
4625 W. Olympic Blvd

We also have a couple asks of you all that will help us make it a success, and make it sustainable!

1. DONATIONS:  No, not money!! Since this is a sustainability fair, we want to refrain from buying anything.  So we’re reaching out in hopes that you all have some of the materials we need. We’re doing an arts + craft table and a seed planting activity table.

Here is what we need: (**again - please don’t buy any of this. It’s just if you have some lying around that you aren’t using.)

  • Dirt/Soil/Potting Soil

  • Seeds (flowers, vegetables, whatever you have that you don’t want.)

  • Small clay pots for plants

  • 4 x 4 plastic containers that plants come in that you would otherwise throw away

  • Children’s book – for kids 1-12 – we are going to give them away as prizes. So if you have any kids books that you’re ready to unload, we want them.

Here is where to bring all this: Polly’s front porch – she’s the lead organizer for this fair – 134 S. Van Ness Ave, 90004. The fair is on Aug 27 so the sooner that you can drop stuff off, the sooner we know what we need.

2. VOLUNTEERS: The fair is 10am - 2pm, at the LA High Memorial Park on Olympic and Rimpau (Hancock Park area) We need people to take shifts at the HODG tables, and to help with set-up and clean-up.  And don’t worry, none of this is complicated. It’s helping kids plant seeds. Or decorate lunch bags, etc. Here is the LINK to sign up for a shift.
