Socks, Sweatshirts + Solidarity

Andrea R's been doing ICE patrol regularly with IDEPSCA and is available to chat with anyone who's curious about that ( ** email her at andrea.rothschild@gmail.com.). She shared the other day that an unhoused day laborer at Home Depot lost everything in the recent rains/flooding. His community's coming together to get him new blankets, sweaters, etc. but the man’s plight inspired AR to notice how cold it’s been, and how most of the laborers are NOT dressed for the weather. 

So, she asked that HODG organize + promote –

A Socks-Sweatshirt-Warm Clothes Drive for Day Laborers

Here are the few rules:

• Socks, sweatshirts, jackets, blankets only.  (not an opportunity to get rid of your spring/summer stuff)

• Men's only

• Socks must be NEW.  (sorry, no one wants our dirty socks!)

• All else can be gently used but damn, it would be nice to get these guys something new.  But whatever works for you. 

• Sweatshirts, jackets should be LARGE. 

These men have come here to participate in the American project – like so many of our relatives did – the least we can do is make sure they don’t freeze while doing it.
