A Targeted Action Against Target (+ Home Depot)
This peaceful action is a collaboration of HODG, LAVoice, iKar and TIOH. This coming Sunday these 4 orgs are showing up at Target. The goal is to make sure that shoppers there know that Target allows ICE to use its parking lots as staging areas, and does not protect its employees from being kidnapped at work.
Masked agents have gone into Target stores, pinned employees to the ground, and then stole them away. Many of these employees are "literally US citizens." Target has not made any public response, and as we are all learning, silence is a form of consent.
We will be standing outside of Target, handing out flyers to let shoppers know that there are better alternatives nearby. After Target, any one who wants can walk across the street to Home Depot, where Civic Sundays is holding a protest 3-4pm.
Our protest will be peaceful. We will not be screaming at shoppers, but rather inviting them into this boycott.

A Targeted Action Against Target
Sunday, Feb 22
2pm - 3pm
Meet in Front of Target
5500 Sunset Blvd
All are welcome.
This will be a peaceful operation!
(I got a bunch of heart lollipops to hand out.)
This small action is part of a bigger movement that is happening all across LA where communities are organizing their own boycotts. If you are interested in doing that, or if you want to learn more about this movement, LAVoice is offering a training session on Tues, Feb 17 at 5:30 - 7pm.
This is NOT mandatory, but is a great opportunity to learn how to run these kind of actions with your own friends, orgs, neighbors etc. (* LAVoice is a faith-based org, so there will be some "faith forward messaging." I am not a religious person at all, but for many of the communities we are working with, religion is foundational and serves as a way to connect.
