3RD ANNUAL VALLEY DAY OF SERVICE
This is for all you HODG-members of the Valley! You're always having to schlepp over the hill for actions. This time, you don’t! That’s because Sun, April 14 is The VALLEY DAY of SERVICE. The event is sponsored by Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel – who was fantastic at last week’s Anti-semitism Learning Group, fyi – and there will be loads of different opportunities to volunteer.
At Pierce College, you can assemble outreach kits, make lunches for homeless folks. Or assemble no-sew blankets for survivors of domestic violence. You can also donate blood, or learn CPR. They will also be collecting non-perishables for Sova, and diapers for the Family Rescue Center.
There are other actions at other locations around the valley – like planting a garden with Tree People at the Van Nuys YMCA, or preparing a community mural, or clean up the Sepulveda Basin, and more!
To participate, you need to fill out a registration form and choose your actions. All groups will meet at Pierce College and disperse to their activity after an orientation.
If Tim Snyder were around, I'm sure he’d approve of this perfect way – and day – to fight Tyranny and exert our power by doing good, and showing up!
