No Kings #3
No surprise there is a lot going on for the next No Kings Rally. HODG is focusing on 2 actions. But first, why you should all attend a No Kings Rally if you can.
As historians like Tim Snyder and HCR frequently remind us: Democracy isn't self-sustaining. It depends on visible, collective participation and the absence of that participation is seen by autocrats as permission to consolidate power. Power watches what people will tolerate.
So, go to a rally on Sat, Mar 28. If you don't show up, if you don't voice your objections, then you are telling our leaders that you abide.
Here are the 2 actions HODG is focusing on:
a. The Downtown LA No Kings Rally, Sat March 28 at 2pm. Instead of meeting at my house -- because I'm out of town still -- protestors will meet at Polly's house. You'll then walk the block to the bus stop , and head downtown together (this is the funnest part, I think!) First 15 to show up will receive FREE NO KINGS T-shirts.

b. Join the No Kings Car Parade. The amazing Amy Aquino alerted us to this fun version of a rally. This organized caravan will do a big loop around LA to amplify and cheer on a half-dozen different stationary No Kings demonstrations (and our horns).
The plan is: 10am: meet up in the Culver Center parking lot in Culver City The organizers will provide custom “NO Dictators”, “ICE Out of LA” and “No War” car flags and other stuff to make our cars parade worthy. (You can, of course, decorate at home
11am: caravan out, meeting up ,with 6 different No Kings Protests along the route (see below). The caravan will pass thru a bunch of busy places along the way -- like Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Blvd, Silver Lake, and East LA.
2pm: finish loop at Pico/Robertson (you will have time to still participate in big downtown rally from 3-5.)
The Car Parade is a perfect alternative for people who might are not physically able to participate in the rally, or who have a baby or pet to worry about.
