Annual Pajama Bags for Alexandria House
Every Christmas, HODG delivers 50 “pajama bags” to the residents of Alexandria House — a transitional home for moms and kids who’ve had more than their share of hard days and nights.
Helen has been running this action since… well, she doesn’t remember, definitely before the pandemic so 7… 8 years! And each year, it never fails to bring delight to the families there.
Here’s how this works: If you want to participate, you’ll be matched with a current or former resident — women, men (the boys who grew up there!), and kids. Your mission is to build them a “pajama bag.”
Each bag should include:
- A pair of pajamas
- Slippers
- A sheets + pillowcase set
- A set of towels
- Some folks have added a toy if it’s a child, or a journal, nice toiletries or chocolates, for the adults. We leave it up to you!.
We will provide you with your friend's name, gender, age, bed size, favorite color, and sizes. Please err on the larger size if you are uncertain, too big is always better than too small.
Please put everything in a large holiday shopping bag, a fun reusable bin, or new laundry bag– and write your residents name clearly on the outside, and inside too.
